Colourful Sculpture by Patricia Volk 27th July – 27th August

When I first saw Patricia’s work I was excited by the fantastic colours and dramatic shapes.  When I realised she hadn’t just started but was well established – how had I not seen her work before, I must be losing my touch!  Then I discovered she has been a member of the RBS for a long time and recently has been made a Fellow.

We are delighted to announce our upcoming event

Abstract 7 at Chapel Arts, Cheltenham

Preview - Wednesday 4th July, 6.30pm to 8pm. The exhibition will run from the 4th to the 28th July 2018.

This The Abstract 7 are a group of five painters one potter and one sculptor; all of whom favour the modernist’s approach and a philosophy of abstraction that echoes the appreciation of the New York abstract expressionists.

For this group abstraction is a means of enlightenment, a kind of magic that reveals images of inner feelings beyond thought or mind. The work is not to be reasoned with or necessarily understood. It is to be experienced and meditated upon.

We are delighted to be hosting a series of concerts and composer academies as part of Cheltenham Music Festival, which runs from 30 June – 15 July. For availability and booking, contact the box office 01242 850270

This is the last of our Spring/Summer shows, Chapel Arts will be closed for August but will re-open for the Autumn/Winter shows on 5th September, where we will have exhibitions from Jane Lampard & Michael Long, The Gloucestershire Print Co-operative and Cheltenham artist Robert Goldsmith.

4th to the 28th July 2018
