Lar Cann – Dyworth Pow Gwyrven

Lar Cann – Dyworth Pow Gwyrven 10th November – 10th December

Dyworth Pow Gwyrven translates from the Cornish language as From Elvan Country. Gwyrven literally means Greenstone, it is a very hard rock associated with granite.  Elvan is the name used in Cornwall for the native varieties of quartz-porphyry. Lar has been engaged with the visual impact on the landscape brought about by the industrial extraction of granite, copper and tin. This intervention has revealed an otherwise hidden world of mineral wealth unrivalled in its beauty of colour, form and texture and has been a continuing source of investigation and motivation in his painting.

We are delighted to announce our upcoming event

Ric James | Paintings, Prints & Sculpture

Ric’s exhibition brings us both reality-based and abstract subjects. Much of his work captures his interest in New York, especially the works of Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Roy Lichtenstein. They make bold statements with vibrant use of colour, rhythm and texture.

In addition, we will be showing a selection of Ric’s sculptures, including limited edition bronzes.

28th February – 24th March 2018

Private View, Friday 9th March 6.30pm – 8.00pm
